| this afternoon, i'm playing receptionist. picking up calls, receiving packages, greeting visitors, and taking note of who's in the office or out for lunch. the ancient radio before me is playing soothing soft oldies on am740, i'm sporting a lovely knit sweater, cardigan, skirt and stockings, and had a campbell's soup-in-hand for lunch. the phone seems to know to ring at the precisely the moment any sort of important or interesting thought pops into my head as if it's only goal in life was to distract my thought processes. see, there it goes again!

after sitting in a narrow dingy alley on the cold, hard concrete floor with nothing but the current issue of Now to cushion my behind for over four hours, we were turned away minutes before the last screening of d.o.a.p. Sorry, but there were going to be no rush tickets available today. every single one of those retched ticket holders showed up! i guess we really should have known as they had turned away over 200 hopefuls in the rush line at the previous showing. we just thought that since we were third in the queue of hundreds that we had a better chance than any of the suckers at the back. darn. and we were really quite curious to see just how ze president would get assasinated too. |
